New Bohemians: THE LOVER

Name:  Adriana Rizzolo

Occupation: Lover

Years in New York: 4

Hometown: New Jersey

What brought you to New York?  The sun

What do you love about the city? Everyone's sweet and unique paths of evolving.

What do you hate? Everyone's sweet and unique paths of evolving.

What's your definition of a New Yorker? Anyone who can love a lot, and hate a lot at the same time.

Best or worst New York moment? Taking a dip in the Washington Square Park fountain, right after getting tattooed, during the Hindu festival, after my best friend got shit on by a pigeon, and didn't contract any diseases.

What three things are you addicted to right now? Fine and raw chocolate, tea, and love.

What one New York job would you want to do, if you weren't who you are? I'm already living them—except fire eating, I'd like to learn how to do that.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Living between a city and a commune... on a farm, self sustained with children, friends, and animals. Lots of animals.

If God were an animal, what would it be? All animals are love.  Like God.  So you can't pick one... Ok, elephants.

What do you think the difference is between faith and religion? I don't really think there is a difference between the two.  Religion can provide one with faith, but more times than not in our society it only provides us with a belief.  Belief is objective whereas faith is subjective-it cannot be thrown out. Belief alone will not satisfy the human need to feel connected, to find out why and what we are doing here.  Faith comes from direct personal experience, and insight found through creativity.  Religion can provide us with that faith, but only in its purest form, which isn't available for most of us to practice in this country. What is available is our true selves, which has all the answers—we already have everything we need in our hearts. Learning to love has helped me connect and create so much more.  Faith is what has given me the opportunity to learn how to love and expand my mind. Reversing patterns and practicing something good everyday.  evol.ve.

peace.
