New Bohemians: THE QUEEN

Name: Martin-Christopher Harper

Occupation: Editorial Hair Stylist

Years in New York: Seven

Hometown: San Diego, California

What brought you to New York? The Hair BIZ

What do you love about the city? Where do I begin… I love the continuum of NEWness

What do you hate? New York always manifests a love hate relation. I think I dislike when tourists are in my way on the street… Annoying!

What is your definition of a New Yorker? A New Yorker: Constantly Evolving Creature. Human, Rat, Roach, Transportation… The Masses.

Best or worse New York moment? Best: Waking up this morning and realizing that yes the economy sucks, but, I have the world at my finger tips

Worst: Forgetting to nurture self… and realizing that I am my main concern, regardless.

What three things are you addicted to right now? Cigarettes. Hair. FEVER RAY “When I Grow Up,” get into it!

What one New York job would you want to do, if you weren't who you are? That is a tough one. I wear many Hats… If  I want to do it… I do. I think that is the nature of this beast.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Diligently working, peacefully collaborating, and happily pushing

If God were an animal, what would it be? GOD? I am spiritual… not Religious

What do you think the difference is between faith and religion? Faith is a comprehensive dialogue with your person. The ability to understand that there is validity and invalidity in everything… However, not being secular to ones idea that a GOD is controlling. In short, inner peace and rationality.

Religion: hmm… a long lineage of mans following of a deity, practice and restriction.
