Rockaway Taco

Far Rockaway Beach was a frequent hang out spot this summer, while there I was told that I had to stop by a little, local taco shop called Rockaway Taco. Andrew Dayfield and David Selig run the restaurant; who live next door and harvest their own honey. The food is delectable, and totally affordable. Hot items on the menu you don’t want to miss: Delux Fish Taco with guacamole, fried sweet plantains, iced coffee, and cucumber tossed with chile and lime.

“If I want a day out of the city,” says regular patron Anessa Daviero, “I hop in my van with my husband and drive out to the Rockaways with our crew to chill on the beach and eat hella good munchies, dude.”

Rockaway Taco is open Monday through Sunday 11am to 8pm.  They also are now serving breakfast Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 11pm.

To get there by subway, take the Far Rockaway A train to Broad Channel, one stop past JFK airport.  Wait on the same platform for S shuttle train and take that two stops to 98th Street.  Rockaway Taco is at 96th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard.
